Instagram Photo Guide to Marfa, Texas

Know Before You Go

Marfa is a little town basically in the middle of nowhere in West Texas. The town is located at the interaction of  two major roads, Route 90 and 17.  If you plan on coming from out of town be prepared to drive a distance as the closest airport is over two hours away. I decided to fly into El Paso International Airport and rent a car to drive the two hour thirty miniature drive. The roads are dusty but the scenery is vibrant and picturesque. Marfa is a known art town filled with museums, art installations, trendy stores, and cute eateries.

One thing I wish I knew before I went is that everything  in the town closes pretty early. The people were pretty hospitable and helpful especially when you asked a stranger to take a picture of you. I suggest taking a two day trip to Marfa, you do not need a long time to explore all the town has to offer. There are many lodging accommodations but I decided to go with a stay at the famous El Cosmico
