Our Misson
Travel affords people knowledge that one can only gain through experience. For a long time travel has been a luxury only afforded to the wealthy. The mission of Travel By Alana is to educate people on how accessible travel is. The featured editorials will intersect travel with luxury, fashion, and budget-friendly tips. Readers will be informed about ways travel can be manipulated to better suit their lifestyle and be equipped with resources along the way.
Meet the Blogger
“Travel affords people knowledge that one can only gain through experience.”
Hi, my name is Alana!
I am a micro-blogger and avid traveler based in Brooklyn, NY. I am a graduate of Spelman College, a small Historically Black College University located in Atlanta, GA. My passion for traveling started at a fairly young age through my educational experiences. Travel was introduced to me as a learning tool. In high school, I was allowed to study abroad for an extended period of time in Spain. During my time at Spelman, I also had the opportunity to study abroad in four different countries while collecting research for my thesis.
Travel has been a way for me to make once-in-a-lifetime memories. I believe that travel is not only limited to the experiences I have abroad but domestically as well. Travel feeds me in so many different ways. It feeds my soul, enriches my mind, fuels my passion, and quenches my thirst for knowledge. My experiences abroad have shaped me into the person I am today.
Currently, I work full-time in IT and a part-time Master of Business Administration student. Because of my busy schedule, I have a limited amount of time to travel. I want Travel By Alana to educate people like me who have full-time responsibilities on conquering a destination in a short amount of time.
Travel By Alana is very near and dear to my heart because it aligns my passion with my purpose. I am very passionate about the intangible rewards one receives when traveling, and I believe that everyone should be afforded that reward. I want Travel By Alana to allow readers to travel not only physically but through the stories, I tell.
